        Douglas V. Alling graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1966 and from Willamette University College of Law in 1969. He has been an active member of the Washington State Bar Association, Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. The first six years of his practice focused on business and tax planning for small and medium size businesses. For the last 25 years he has practiced all phases of litigation, including mediation, arbitration, land use, administrative hearings and trials. He has tried cases to juries, the bench, arbitrators and government agencies, including the United States District Court, Washington Supreme Court, Washington Court of Appeals, State of Washington Shoreline Hearing Board; City of Tacoma and Pierce County Hearings examiners and various municipal hearings examiners.

        Mr. Alling's primary focus involves large, complex litigation matters, including business, real estate, estates, insurance and personal injury claims. He represents individuals as well as corporate clients regarding disputes in the areas of purchase, sale and development of real property. Estate disputes include will contests, breach of fiduciary duty and mismanagement. Mr. Alling's personal injury practice primarily focuses on serious personal injury, wrongful death, brain injuries, automobile collisions, government liability, employment liability, civil rights, malpractice claims, and product liability. He has represented both plantiffs and defendants. Mr. Alling also has experience in estate, business and tax planning, security law disputes relating to churning and unsuitable investments. He has substantial experience in general business law representing clients in formation, dissolution, merges and sales.

        Mr. Alling believes all clients are entitled to the best legal representation possible. His philosophy has resulted in numerous satisfied clients and many referrals from attorneys both in the community and throughout the United States.
