Ed Hudson advises businesses with regard to management decisions and alternative approaches to the resolution of legal matters. Having served six years as a member of the Tacoma City Council and one year as President of the Puget Sound Council of Governments (today the Puget Sound Regional Council), Mr. Hudson is uniquely able to assist clients who want access to elected officials and department staff, or guidance in working with modern land use policy.
Mr. Hudson's areas of expertise are those mentioned above as well as business litigation. He obtained his law degree at the University of Wisconsin in Madison after earning a bachelors degree in business at the University of Washington. Prior to beginning the practice of law, Mr. Hudson served a tour in Viet Nam with the United States Army.
In addition to elected office, Mr. Hudson has served as a member of the Washington State China Relations Council, member and President of the Washington State Arts Commission, and chairman of the International Section of the Washington State Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in Washington and before the federal U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
Mr. Hudson grew up in Tacoma. His wife, Dorothy, is a former teacher and volunteers at the Point Defiance Zoo. They have two daughters, Heather, a graduate in anthropology at Willamette University, and Hilary, a physiology student working for a Master’s degree at Creighton University. Away from work and family, he enjoys serving on the Board of Directors for the Tacoma Actors’ Guild and, when time permits, he is mountain climbing, skiing and reading.
